Streets Of Rage Wiki

This page refers to the list of pickup items present in Streets of Rage 4.

Pickup items are divided in two types: consumables and weapons. Consumables are divided between recovery items, points items and power star, while weapons are divided in swing weapons, thrust weapons and throw weapons.

Consumables[]

These are items that are used upon interacted with, by using the correspondent pickup button. Consuming items halts the duration of the combo counter for a few seconds.

Recovery Items[]

These refer to items that restore the health of a player character upon picked up. Health items can be customized in the options menu to change their appearance. Doing so has no effect in their potency, being just a cosmetic change. Health items are often found on breakable barrels.

  • Apple: Small health refill, +300 points at full health.
    • Can be changed into: Onigiri, Croissant, Onion Rings, Pizza Slice, Tofu, Caviar, Sliced Pineapple, Breakfast Plate, Spring Rolls.
  • Chicken: Full health refill, +1000 points at full health.
    • Can be changed into: Bowl of Ramen, Ham, Poutine, Cheeseburger, Salad, Lobster, Fruit Basket, Durian, Fried Chicken, Stir Fry, Birthday Cake.

Points Items[]

There refer to items that increase the player total score. In Story and Arcade Modes, accruing points allows the player to gain extra lives, while in Survival Mode, extra Star Moves. Much like recovery items, these often found on breakable barrels.

  • Money Bag: +200 points
  • Money Case: +500 points

Power Star[]

These items grant the player a charge of Star Move, allowing the character to execute their most powerful attack. These items are limited per level and are often found after clearing a retro stage challenge, or, in Mania+, after defeating a retro boss from the cursed red arcade cabinet.

Weapons[]

These items can be picked up and used against opponents. Each weapon has its own properties, attack power and durability. Weapon durability decreases each time the player hits an opponent; durability won't decrease if the player hits breakables (barrels, boxes, etc.).

Most Streets of Rage 4 and Streets of Rage 3 characters can use Blitz Attacks with a swing or thrust weapon equipped. Shiva is the exception, as he cannot pick up weapons, and his Streets of Rage 4 version will always throw them instead. Roo is also unable to pick up weapons.

In addition, there are weapons exclusive to the Mr. X Nightmare DLC, and must be unlocked in Survival Mode first. After that, some of them can be found in the Story and Arcade Modes. Nearly all normal weapons can be found on the Survival Mode.

When using a Weapon Blitz Attack that has 2-hits, if the weapon is at very low durability, the first hit will never break the weapon.

Swing Weapons[]

These are weapons that have a slower attack animation, but deal more damage than other weapons. Most swing weapons cause ground bounces when used against airborne opponents. A common example of a swing weapon is the Lead Pipe.

Lead Pipe[]

  • Swing Damage: 24
  • Speed: Normal
  • Throw Damage: 24
  • Durability: High (8 swings to break)
  • Throw Durability: High (8 throws to break)

The most common swing weapon, the lead pipe is a staple of the series. In Streets of Rage 4, it retains its properties of being covering a good range while being a bit slower. Lead Pipes are mostly found lying on the ground or being carried by Donovan and his variations.

Baseball Bat[]

  • Swing Damage: 24
  • Speed: Normal
  • Throw Damage: 24
