Streets Of Rage Wiki

Eagle, also known as Raven, is an Enemy from Streets of Rage 2 and Streets of Rage 4. He's a Muay Thai fighter (or Nak Muay) who works for the Syndicate as a hired muscle.

Overview[]

Eagle is a highly skilled Muay Thai fighter, being one of the tallest enemies in the series, with a toned yet buff physique, dark blue hair and a caramel skin. He wears a loose black tank top, a pair of red boxing briefs, a traditional Muay Thai headband, a pair of armbands and bandages on his ankles and arms.

Streets of Rage 2[]

Eagle first appears at the second act of Stage 5, before facing Wayne. He is a close-range fighter who can block, as well as kick a single time or a 3-hit combo. He'll often close the gap by lunging with a flying knee attack. He can also counter jumping attacks with a high kick, similarly to Donovan's uppercut. In a close quarter combat, Eagle is able to grab and inflict a series of Muay Thai knee strikes before dispatching an enemy with a middle kick.

Streets of Rage 4[]

Eagle, now called Raven, returns in Streets of Rage 4, first appearing in the Chinatown stage. He retains his ability to block and perform his flying knee attack. While he no longer uses his high kick anti-air, his consecutive kicks are faster and deal more damage. In addition, his flying knee now covers slightly more distance, tracks the player more efficiently, and is harder to intercept, although it has a significant startup.

Variants[]

Raven has three variants, each having increased health and some differences:

  • Condor, with a teal tank top and trunks, light skin and red hair, has the same attack patterns as Raven, but with a bit more health.
  • Pheasant, with a white tank top, black trunks, black hair and reddish-brown skin, has even more health than Condor, uses a more powerful version of the Flying Knee which is enveloped in flames and covers a much larger distance. He also uses attacks with two kicks instead of three when at close range.
  • Sparrow, with a tank top and trunks, caramel skin and purple hair, uses the same attack patterns as Pheasant, but his Flying Knee has super-armor while charging, and will often be used as a get-up move.

Move List[]

  • Blocking: used in all games, by all variants. They block all incoming attacks with their leg, reducing all incoming damage by 90%. They can still be grabbed, though.
  • Flying Knee: used in all games, by all variants. They'll jump towards the player with their knee high. Hard to intercept directly, but relatively easy to avoid.
  • Fiery Flying Knee: only used by Pheasant and Sparrow in Streets of Rage 4. An improved version of Flying Knee enveloped in flames that covers a much larger distance. Sparrow's version has super armor on the startup.
  • Triple Kick: used in all games, by all variants. They kick the player three times quickly, with the third kick knocking them back.
  • Double Kick: only used by Pheasant and Sparrow in Streets of Rage 4. They kick the player two times quickly, with the second kick knocking them back. Deals the same damage as the triple kick.
  • High Kick: only in Streets of Rage 2. They'll kick high in the air to intercept players jumping.
  • Grabbing and knee strikes: only in Streets of Rage 2. They'll grab the player and unleash a flurry of kicks.

Strategy[]

Raven is an aggressive enemy that can be dangerous in large numbers due to his Flying Knee tracking the player and having high priority. Ideally, the player should bait their knee strikes, strafe up and down to avoid it, and retaliate. When dealing with multiple at the same time, using Special Attacks grant invincibility and makes dealing with the Flying Knees more easily. They'll refrain from using the Flying Knee if the player is close, so putting pressure is key.

In Streets of Rage 4, care should be taken against Pheasant and Sparrow, as their fiery flying knee covers much more distance and is a homing attack, on top of having brief super armor. Staying close to them is actually a more viable option as they'll prioritize less dangerous moves instead of the fiery flying knee attack.
