Airplane is the eleventh stage from Streets of Rage 4.
Story[]
After defeating DJ K-Washi and putting an end to the plans of the Y Twins to mind control the city through his concert, the heroes descend through an elevator to reach the Y Corporation airplane before the twins escape.
Enemy List[]
On higher difficulties, enemy density is higher and other variants may appear.
- B. Signal / R. Signal
- Francis / Brandon
- Victoria / Anne
- Dunphy / Sand
- Barney
- Jonathan
- Iron
- Pyrop / Saphyr
- Queen / Belle / Stiletto
- Mona (Retro Mini-Boss; Mania+)
- Mr. Y (Boss)
- Mr. Whatever / Mr. What (Mania+)
Overview[]
Elevator[]
The player starts at an elevator, where, similarly to Stage 9, waves of enemies will appear:
- First wave consists of Jonathans, Garams, Red Signals and Blue Signals.
- Second wave consists of Francis and Brandons.
- Third wave consists of Victorias.
The easiest way to dispatch of the enemies is to simply throw them off the elevator, instantly killing them. Francis and Brandons can be baited to the edge of the stage to force them to fall off themselves by using their flying kick attack.
Airport Runway[]
Once the elevator stops, the player will found themselves at the airport runway. Proceeding a bit to the right will play a short scene where an electric vial drops near the player, showing an army of Dunphies and Annes. Much like Lou on Stage 8, Dunphy is a corrupt cop, that will not attack Syndicate members. This is one of the most challenging parts of the Stage, since Anne's vial cooldown has merely 2 seconds, meaning she can spam vials non-stop at the player. Ideally isolating the Annes from the Dunphies is ideal so the player has more breathing room to attack, as Dunphies move slowly. Progressing further will have another wave of Sands, this time followed by two Barneys (after those two are defeated, more Annes will appear from the left and right sides). The player will find themselves at the airplane where Mr. Y fled to. Before boarding, the player must destroy exploding barrels on the way; hitting the middle barrel will cause others to explode in cascade.
Aboard the Airplane[]
Once the player boards the airplane, Jonathans, wielding knives, will appear from inside, followed by Silvers. After some seconds, the airport will depart; any enemy outside will instantly die. Proceeding further, the player will face Sands and more Irons before entering the cabin.
Once inside the cabin, the player can destroy the seats, which will have bonus point items and health items. Care should be taken, however, as once destroyed, the area where the seats where will emit electric puls after few seconds. Pyrops and Saphyrs will appear upon walking a bit further, followed by two Irons. A Power Star can be found hidden behind the large circular table.
Before entering the pilot cabin, the player will face Queen, Belle and Stiletto. Bele, in particular, is dangerous, as her whip electrifies player characters.
Retro Mini-Boss: Mona (Mania+)[]
If playing on Mania+, a cursed arcade cabinet will be located at the bottom right side of the screen before entering the pilot cabin. Destroying it will spawn Mona. It's strongly recommended to only break it after defeating all but one enemy (preferably Queen), as Mona can do flying kicks that are hard to intercept, in addition to being able to summon Lisa.
Boss: Mr. Y[]
- Main article: Mr. Y#Boss Fight
On Mania+, Mr. Whatever and Mr. What will appear once Mr. Y reaches 70% and 50% health, respectively.
Trivia[]
- "Mr. Y" boss theme was composed by Yuzo Koshiro.
